Do the sims work in a phone or other device? Is the MiFi locked to 3 network.

sounds like the Mifi is locked to the 3 network, which is normal. Either take it to a local phone repair shop or market stall and they will unlock it for a fee. or if you are IT literate you can source the unlock code from ebay and unlock it yourself

Sorry for not putting enough info on, I was getting a little pi,,Ed off, It’s a Motorhomes WiFi device with a huewei?5g Router from what I was told put a data sim in and it will work

Did you buy from Motorhome WiFi , if so I’m sure they will help you get sorted.

Not answering phone, must be weekend off

I'm certain their mifi's are unlocked.
A hard reset often sorts out problems like this. Take the back off and on the side there is a reset button you will need a pen or paperclip to push it.

If it's locked to 3 a phone call to their help desk will get it unlocked.

You need a data only sim for the MiFi. Some companies will allow a phone sim in a MiFi but some don't. In my experience it takes them a day or two to realise what's going on but this was a few years ago - perhaps they are quicker now?

You need to edit the giffgaff settings, i think the APN- 'access point name' settings need to be changed. There are some reviews on amazon for the Huawei one which tell you how to do this i think.

Ofcom ruled against this in 2018.

We have just had a Motorhome WiFi installed. Initially had some problems but we phoned and they talked us through what was needed to set up. They were very busy but returned calls and were extremely helpful. I am certain they will be in touch.

when giffgaff or sky sim is inserted inrouter the red light comes on,the huuwei app just says no credit and won’t connect, there’s plenty of credit and data on both cards
Hi Does sound that unit is lock to a network, what do you get if you put the 3 sim back in?

3 sim has run out of credit but asks to top up so works, 1p mobile card which is EE works but v. Expensive

If it is a unit from Motorhome WiFi, then it won’t be locked to any network, an once setup correctly will work on any network from our experience, with any phone SIM card.

Hi you may need to set the APN for the other Sims to work not sure how you do this normally it is automatic has been for me.

Apn does need setting, instructions said generally when abroad . Smarty had activated the card under the wrong number but cancelled the account and refunded me the money. Re activated the same card just now and it’s working, thanks all

I’m glad you got sorted.
Thanks for the update.
