Hello Funsters,

I've been searching for a suitable portable pump for my Rapido. Any recommendations please? A lot of those I have looked at don't have the necessary grunt!

Thanks,
Rob

I use DeWalt power tools and so i have many DeWalt Li.ion batteries. This model does to 159psi.

Another vote for Ring RAC 900 pump. Does the job well.

Thanks for your recommendations. There seems to be a lot of inflators on the market but many seem to be poor quality and don't last long before something breaks! My last one had a pressure sensor to auto switch off and plugged into the 12v socket. The RAC one looks good but is missing those features. Any other suggestions??

Vanhause cordless quite a few Funsters have then only 40 quid and works well. You can run from the battery or plug it into 12v.
I pumped a flat Motorhome tyre up to 49psi before the battery gave up.

Hello Rob
What pressure are you wanting to get to? I had a Halfords tyre inflator which lasted for about a year when I wanted 55 psi. Changed motorhome that needs 65 psi and it disintegrated.

Hi Nigel
I run mine at 65/70 psi. I tried a Halfords pump which only worked for a short while, a day and a half. I took it back and got a refund.

I got one of these. It is heavy duty and needs a lot of amps to run. You cannot run it from a standard 12 volt lighter socket. It comes with a set of clips to go onto a battery. Double ended pump so it's twice as fast.

GSPSCN Silver Tyre Inflator Heavy Duty Double Cylinders with Portable Bag, Metal 12V Air Compressor Pump 150PSI with Adapter for Car, Truck, SUV Tyres, Dinghy, Air Bed etc https://amzn.eu/d/dTYzwBD

Thanks Nigel.

Try the RAC900 as suggested, It's a good strong pump, It has crocodile clips because it is to powerful for the 12v socket. It also has a coiled flexy airline long enough to reach all the wheels.

Looks like a good choice, and I know you say it can't be used in a cigarette type socket.
HOWEVER it comes with a fitted cigarette plug with a ""25AMP"" fuse....Whoa.... Now how many will see that and automatically plug into their dashboard ciggies socket which I believe are rated about 10amps.
So why have it and not just the crocodile clips...
Quessing some may have blown a fuse or two, or even worse.

I've had loads

this one

has lasted the longest

I’m another Ring RAC900 owner/user for 3yr

Crocodile clips for battery terminals.
The on off switch is on the pump end & I can be several metres away at the hose end putting air into the rear tyres.
That’s the worst thing. Maybe I need to get a loose car battery 🤪
