Always a Newbie
Currently looking for a Motorhome with some specific layout ideas but a spanner has been thrown in / suggestion made about a Motorhome with a rear lounge and a longitudinal drop down bed - does such a beast exist ?

The new Pilote 696D mayde?

Bailey 79-6
Bessacarr 596

Are you talking about a drop down centre bed that is lengthways, i.e, along the length of the motorhome rather than the width?

Interesting question.
My answer, having studied hundreds of motorhome layouts over the years, is that I have never seen one. Many centre bed mohos have a corner chamfer cut off to facilitate using the hab door at all times. A couple don't, and I would therefore suggest that, if you want a 2m long bed, that is 2m wide, then get one, move the pillows to an end, and sleep lengthways!!

The was a Hymer not sure if it's still made and Frankie, rear lounge, front drop down bed with pull outs making two singles.

I believe that’s the Frankia 740

The one I "thought" I had seen had a lengthways bed that dropped down over the rear lounge. Now beginning to think it was all a dream

I have seen a Yank RV with that layout but cannot find which one.

There’s a Burstner Lyseo IT745 or this 744 - bit of a faff

Can you recall whether it was a Coachbuilt or an A Class?

Many thanks, I think that this was the one that I'd seen. As you said it does look a bit of a faff from the video and the bed step doesn't look too strong either.

Ah well looks like to back to the original ideas.

Thank you to everyone for the suggestions

That is a pretty good example of how to ruin what is potentially a clever idea. How many people are going to muck about with all that just to lie down for a nap or a good book? Better off with a fixed bed.

I believe these have what you are looking for but beware of gross weights and payloads🤔

Think there is a Hymer with over-cab drop down bed that has extensions to turn it into two singles.

I think I can remember seeing a conversion that had a drop down bed over the lounge at rear . Might have been a R S brochure

Rapido 854f. Not longitudinal but might be what you saw?

Or the older 9094df?
