Hi We are thinking of part exing our Burstner motorhome realy to down size,I would be interested in your thoughts, what is the most popular bed layout these day's two singles or a double, my thinking is we like the double bed as you get a wardrobe either side of the bed and don't have to get down on your knees and fumble about for your coats etc.

Regards JOE

Don't look at the new Lunar that was reviewed recently in the mags. It's double bed is only 5' 9" long in the middle and tapers at the sides. By my reckoning that's only big enough for Ronnie Corbett and Jimmy Krankie to snuggle down in! What the hell were they thinking.......

I believe the most efficient use of space for a fixed double would be a transverse bed, but it might not be the most popular as not everyone likes the climbing over(y)

You won't be downsizing very far as what you're describing is an island bed. I don't believe there is such a thing under 7.5m - we've spent quite a while looking.

I like climbing over!

We love our transverse bed, 5ft wide by 7 ft long and so comfortable. And if we want a change of scenery we have a drop down bed up the front which is just as big. Would hate to be cramped up in some of the small beds I see in some campers.
