Been caravanning for years but now ordered my first motorhome
Hi all could I have your recommendations for good insurance companies and any things to be aware of when looking for insurance for a new motor home as noe to motor homes.

cheers

Check it's a proper motorhome policy. You will be legal with a car type one but possibly not well covered in the event of a claim. I recommend Comfort been with them for years without them hiking premium and have had a couple of claims.

AIB is the Broker, but the policy sits with Aviva. The £500 wasn't really saved as they insisted on an Alarm installation (on top of the standard dealer fitted immobilizer & tracker) which cost the £500 saving, but is great peace of mind and works very well.

Aib, never needed to claim so experience with that side of things.
Will be no doubt looking around this year as prices rise.

I use NFU. They have a good reputation for paying claims. They do not mark down the insurance cost for the first year and then ramp it up in subsequent years to get their money back (unlike many others). The policy is a car policy but the windscreen cover is unlimited, the only disadvantage I can see is the limited cover for personal belongings. I am not worried by the limited personal belongings cover because most of it, such as bikes, is already covered by my home contents policy.

Just bought our first m/home and best price was from LV

NFU are good but be aware they only cover Croatia and a couple of other countries third party.

Just changed from Flux to AiB, policy actually with Highway. Less than £200 for our 2008 Elddis 120

Try LV. Competitive prices, good cover inc windscreens (We have an A class) Easy to deal with for a claim we had for a side cab window.
They don't normally ask what the vehicle converter is or the value. They go by market value. Make sure they know any extras fitted not as standard i.e. Hydraulic levelling etc.. They also give European coverage.
