I'm sure many already know, but Keith Huewen will no longer be commentating for BT Sport

People's preferences for commentators will always be subjective, personally I think he was getting a bit long in the tooth and am pleased he has stepped down

Now if they could just get Suzy Perry to step down that wouldn't be a bad thing either....

No - I'm normal, it's everyone else that's mad (but you know that)

To be fair to Keith Huewen, at the start of every season there was a noticeable attempt at improvement (he stopped using some of his 1970's sayings, for example) which, to me, is normally a better solution than getting rid of presenters


I've never been a fan of Ms Perry, my first experience of her interviewing style was her asking Nori Haga 'how many percent?' and then gushing how cute he is - not what I'm interested in for a program about motorcycle racing

Her recent style switches between giggly schoolgirl and school mistress, neither of which work for me

If you add in that her diction seems to have deteriorated with her face becoming shinier and less wrinkled, then I believe Gavin does a better job anchoring the program


I must say I wasn't too sure about Mr Laverty, but his technical insight is very welcome - he is no Neil Spalding in that department - hopefully as he gains experience he will get better

But, as I said in my first post, it's subjective - each to their own

MotoGP is the only reason I subscribe to BT Sport - as I explain to them on contract renewal to get a good deal
