just been checking my kontiki's MOT history online and found this failure.
Reason(s) for refusal to issue Certificate
Nearside Rear Registration plate lamp not working (1.1.5c)
Nearside Front Headlamp aim too low (1.6)
Offside Front Headlamp aim too low (1.6)
Drivers door cannot be opened from inside the vehicle (6.2.1b)
Drivers door cannot be opened from outside the vehicle (6.2.1b)
Front passenger door cannot be opened from inside the vehicle (6.2.1b)
Front passenger door cannot be opened from outside the vehicle (6.2.1b)
now...i know the reason for this fail even though i didnt own it then...
electronic cab door deadbolts !!!!
the ones fitted to mine are remote controlled deadbolts and when de-activated (opened) they will automaticaly relock in 30 seconds unless the ignition is turned on (and off again if needed) and will remain unlocked until the remote is used again.
the previous owner obviously forgot to tell the tester this and if he used the fob thinking it was an immobilizer the doors locked (press again within 30 seconds and it does nothing)......instant MOT fail.
so if anyone has this type of security....dont forget to turn it off when you go for MOT and tell the testeroh:
