Morocco Ins Again 🤬

I have been trying to get 3rd party fire and theft cover for Morocco.
The van is already insured fully Comp but Comfort (who underwrite AVIVA) don’t do a green card
Saga do, but I would have to be Ins with them.
I have spoken to 10 Ins Co’s and none can do it..
Do I just get it in Morocco at the Port kiosk
or ask Carlos ?
It all seems very loosely done and a bit last minute !!
I KNOW you seasoned travelers are peed of with this question and I HAVE looked in the “help” section.
BUT….. Have patience and advise please .

I switched from safeguard to saga exactly hit that reason.
Why don’t they all offer it and charge? Any company seriously unwilling to cover the country can price themselves out accordingly but give us a choice Oh Please!!

It might even be cheaper than getting a worthless one at the border too!

Last time I went on my motorbike I bought it at the kiosk as we exited the Tangier Med port.

NFU do offer it at no cost but had to go back to underwriters first

I had a quote for 30 days 3rd party Insurance from Sterling ins Co.
£480 for 30 days !!!!

have you tried NFU? its been mentioned several times on morocco23 thread, ok mine will be 3rd party only but I think otheres have got comp. what's your ceejayt ?

ironically NFU includes Turkey fully comp as standard.

LV are also worth a call.

I was phoning around today for insurance quotes for a van I’m looking at on Saturday to convert, none of them did cover for Morocco….

Comfort DID do it but have withdrawn it.
Hey ho, Just have to be extra careful.

This thread has got me intrigued. Martin's just checked our Spanish insurance through Allianz and we are covered for Morocco.

The insurance I need is “Private Light Goods” 3rd Party only.
They said that you can’t have 2 policies for one vehicle.
I said “ my insurance (fully comp) won’t be valid in Morocco and the 3rd party Morocco won’t be valid here”.
She said no can do !!

Our insurance is due in December so we will compare NFU and Saga. We want to go to Turkey next year also.
Have completely shelved the idea of travelling the ‘Stans for now though!
