Thanks Billy’sI'd get £200 which is about 2500 dh at Tangier Med just after getting through the customs but still in the port.
Sorry should have been 16.2 madDiesel 160d?? Per litre??
That's £12.34 per litre!!
I do hope it's a misprint!!
Hi Terry, was it you that one of the exchange guys at the border ran after because he had short changed you by mistake?Cash is still preferred in Morocco, cards at the bigger supermarkets and major fuel stations are accepted though.
I take about £500 in cash and change it at the port, which then gets distributed around the van with a working stock in my wallet/her purse. I've changed pounds there and they were very happy but obviously Euros are more popular. Just a warning though, ask for notes no larger than Dh100, they'll try and give you 500's which are next to impossible to change "in country". It's a managed exchange rate so it doesn't really matter where you get your dirhams. I top up as required from ATM's which you'll find in the larger towns. Banks don't do foreign exchange although we found Post Offices do if you can't find a Bureau de Change.
Nope - it would have to be a very fast Moroccan to short change me!!!Hi Terry, was it you that one of the exchange guys at the border ran after because he had short changed you by mistake?
Jon
Its roughly 10Dh = 1Euro.Just trying to get my head around to the exchange rate.
£1 is 13 MDH
£10 is 130MDH etc
so now looking for an easy way to divide by 13?
so looking at 285
2 x 130 = 260 is £20 leaving 25 divided by 13 so roughly 2 so £22
497
4 x 130 = 520 is £40 leaving 23 divided by 13 so roughly £38
Does it help ?
or is there an easier way?
No hassle at all jongoodStruggling with the scooter insurance since LV have left the motorcycle market. Spent a lot of time poring through T & C s and rang the most likely ones, the only 2 so far who have given me a quote are NFU and Bikesure. Bearing in mind that I have been paying about £80 per year fully comp unlimited EU with a free green card,
Bikesure wanted £225, comp in UK TP only In Morocco but only 30 days in EU, to add another 120 was another£100
NFU, £303 fully comp in EU (no limits) but only TP in Morocco, so exactly the same cover as MH and only about £30 cheaper ???
Starting to look like border insurance for the scooter. Did you have any hassle getting it CaptainPaul ? what engine size is your scooter?
No forms to print off just the form on the ferryAs it is sometime since we last did Morocco, have there been any change for the entry forms and do you have to do them online or print off the forms to show on the ferry terminal
