Whilst we were away we could not get the fridge to work as forgot the ramps and we were at a slight angel. I have just got home from Weymouth 165 mile drive had the fridge on battery to make sure that it worked. It did it froze everything in the ice part. Whilst unloading I heard a buzzing and traced it to the Moore Power should this be buzzing with the vehicle switched off? I have plugged the mains in. T

he only way to stop the buzzing was to turn off the circuit breaker. Is this right?

That's an inverter, what's it got to do with the fridge?
Just a bit out of level shouldn't effect the fridge.
Inverters sometime buss but could be the cooling fan you are hearing, why did you have it on?
The 12v cables to the inverter look too small for that size inverter.

And the 3 pin plug at the other end looks like it has black bell wire emerging from it.... What's it powering?

My mistake, an illusion.... It passes by on its way to the bottom of the inverter..
The plug doesn't appear to have any wires going into it!

Being. A newbie “I know nothing “. I don’t know I have never touched it I wasn’t sure if it had anything to do with the fridge. I was just trying to give as much information as possible I am a numpty when it comes to Electrics. I am trying to learn. It would be much easier if you moved near to me?? ok I will switch the CB on later as you say it could be cooling down. All info is useful to me. The old chap who owned it from new ran it for 12 years I am only the second owner,so I assume that it is all safe as far as the wiring goes and I had a habitation check before I got it.

I think it's upside down (ie earth pin downwards), with the yellow wire connected into it.

That's what I first thought but look closer.....
The yellow wire is too close to the inverter, it would enter the plug around the center of the top of the plug as viewed and, like the thin black wires reappears at bottom left of the inverter.
I think, looking at the detail of the plug, the top as viewed is actually the top of the plug. There's a moulded ridge (like a finger guard) on the right starting just above bottom and getting more pronounced at the top as in most plugs

Some basic questions. Is your fridge the 3-way type, which can work on mains, 12v and gas. Or is it a compressor type, which works on 240v, or 12V through the Moore Power inverter?
