Bet there are some good deals to be done if you've got the cash.
ELKHART, Ind. (AP) - Monaco Coach Corp. is closing three recreational vehicle plants in northern Indiana's Elkhart County, costing 1,400 workers their jobs. Monaco said Thursday its Wakarusa, Elkhart and Nappanee plants will close around Sept. 17. Most production of motorized units now made in those factories will move to Oregon. The company has its headquarters in Coburg. Work on two models will move to nearby Warsaw. Monaco also will consolidate its production of trailers in Warsaw. The shutdown will leave Monaco with about 700 Indiana workers in Warsaw, Milford and Goshen. The company said in its announcement that the market for RVs continues to deteriorate and it doesn't expect any major improvements soon. Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
