Hi

I have a suggestion could we please have a " best camsites for fishing" in the best camsites area I think this would benefit a lot of members on here and would be very helpful.

You could try starting a Fishing Group...

JJ

Hi JJ

I used to run a small fishing syndicate where we had matches amongst ourselves at different venues but what with running my own business and just everyone being generally busy it only lasted a couple of years

I just thought it would be nice for members to be able to recommend sites that are further afield to others that have decent on site fishing for others to share as people like me dont know where they can pitch for a few days and have fishing at their fingertips unless its local

Although I am not into course fishing, I would recommend that you check out The Twin Lakes Rally Thread, in France.
I get the picture that this is a very popular site with many Funsters staying there every year, some for a month or so.
I also remember seeing some great pictures of the catches some members had achieved during their rally stay.
I know its a long way, so would have to be a two week trip at least, but it sounds right up your street, and you will see the funsters who are into course fishing maybe also.
Hope that helps.
Les

There is the option to start a thread about fishing if there is enough interest it would be kept updated @daveandsan and other keen fishermen on here may have some ideas. Other than that there is a facility as @JJ says to start a group one
or @Jim may already have one tucked away somewhere

I keep getting phishing emails!

I don’t know if there are many keen fishermen on here but it does sound a good idea. I only fish for pleasure and to get out the house to give my ears a rest. :D
People that do spring to mind are @TrebleH @BobtheBass @lugnutt

I know nothing about fishing but I know that you can fish from the Showground at Shrewsbury and you could even organise a fishing rally if you fancied,

Is the fishing any good Dave @daveandsan

Martin

I too only fish for pleasure now my match days are over but I do enjoy 8 hrs round a nice lake and fancy the idea of my MH just behind me so I can pop back for my dinner and swmbo can keep bringing me a cup of tea :D

Fishing is ok Martin but there are not enough places on site where you can fish from.

The only fishing I do is on here, like this:

:reel::reel::reel:

But I think it’s a great way of getting away for some peace and quiet.

I am very keen to get back into fishing after 50 busy years.

5 large 'Hammer' ponds descending through woodland to a large lake at the bottom.
£5 a day honesty box.
At the top pond the fish virtually give themselves up but more demanding and a large range of species the further down the ponds you go.
Excellent Lakeside Caff.
Beautiful setting and immaculate site. Quiet.
Pub, good walking plus a closed railway line walk/cycle and Horam village shops 300 yds.

Apparently, fishing is one of the, if not the biggest sports in the uk! X

Hi

I have a suggestion could we please have a " best campsites for fishing" in the best campsites area I think this would benefit a lot of members on here and would be very helpful.
Easy "Best campsite for Fishing is Cornish Farm Touring Park in Somerset.

I accept that others may not agree with this statement!

I’m sure there did used to be a section on here for campsites with fishing but I’m blowed if I can find it! It’s a facility I look for whenever possible especially in France but to be going on with try the C&C club at "Hereford", which is actually at Tarrington which is nearer to Ledbury than Hereford but they have a lovely 3 1/2 acre pool which is full of fish and well kept. Most people fish for the carp but there are some superb perch in there and lots of good silver fish as well. Lucksall has the river Wye running through it and there are others close by like Trippenkennet which has two lakes. Winchcombe is only down the road from us but I gather their lake has been somewhat poorly looked after and the fish stocks are now low? My favourite is Durtal in France on the Loir (not the more famous Loire) which although difficult to fish successfully has some wonderful fish in it and can almost be fished out of the toilet window in your van!

The only fishing that I've done at Cornish Farm is fishing out my wallet at the end of a job so that @eddievanbitz can empty it. :(:(:(

Richard.
To be fair you have the River Tone in town, but it’s a heck of a cast from the site to the river.........

All types of fishing should be added so every type of angler can benefit

We used to have at least 3 fishing meets a year. I'm not a fisherman but went on a couple of them and they were great fun. I remember @chrisgreen ran a good one. Bit of a fishing competition and then a few beers and lies about the days catches. Great fun.

If any of you want to organise fishing get togethers its easy enough, If you've no idea how to go about it just give me a shout and I get get the ball rolling for you (y)
