We are thinking of having our RV reupholstered, there are quite a few upholsterers listed locally but can anyone recommend one that is mobile and specialises in this sort of work ?

thanks in anticipation

Don't know if this is any help Jim

I was in Travelworld a few weeks ago looking at a RV. As usual Jan did'nt like the interior but Ross Edwards said he had a guy who could reupholster to whatever we wanted.
Might be worth a phonecall.

Thanks John but I really need them to do it where we live .. I'll call a few local companies, there must be some that do boats, can't imagine taking a narrow boat to them .. :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Jim

I come from a family of upholsterers and although they cant help you because they are based in Southampton, it may be useful for you to not only look at local upholsterers (they will have no problems with the dinette/pelments and sofa but it may also be worth looking at upholstery companies that also do coach trimming, as the front seats are a bit trickier.

Good luck

Jane

Hi Jane

Thanks for the advice, will bear that in mind when asking for quotes and selecting a company..

Sorry to quote such an old post Jim but it's the only one that came up on the search. Did you ever find a mobile uphosterer? if so how much did they quote/charge to do it.............reason being I have invited a local coach trimmer and an upholsterer to come quote me happy...............but I ain't a clue how much it would cost to cream leather the 3 swivel chairs, the sofa, the dinette seats and 3 pelmets. any idea of cost anyone??

Hi Boo

Yes, I did get a quote, from MOTORHOME & CARAVAN UPHOLSTERY SERVICES - Regal Furnishing Ltd.but I put the project on the back burner and went to Portugal instead

2 x tub chairs
1 rock n roll sofa
2 x captains chairs
and the 4 seat dinette
including pelmets

came to around £3 k in fabric .. . IIRC about £4k for leather..

Edit

That also included new foam for the sofa and dinette benches

Hi Boo My advise for what its worth is have it done professionally or not at all
I have seen plenty of amateur attempts and whats sad about that comment is they were not all carried out by amateurs:RollEyes:
quotes for what you want will range from about £1200 to 2K+
John above recommend Regal
Having had work done by them I can vouch for the quality and professionalism see their web site.and droooooooooooooooooooollllll
You can arrange to stay over night and the speed and efficiency will truly amaze you

Forgot to add the owner is a man of the world, aproachable and can work to your budget if reqd, he will be at Newark Show almost certainly

We had our rv done a few years ago by Tockfields in derbyshire. You can sty on their premises with hookup while they do it. They advertise in mmm and other mh mags. We were very happy with job. Cost about £1800- but it was a while ago.
Cheers, Dave:thumb:
