Mobile Phone Anti-Virus Software

    Hi,

    Do any of you have any recommendations for Anti-Virus software for use on a mobile phone, preferably free, I have a Nokia N97

    Sorry, no. The reason for this: There are no known viruses around that would spread onto mobile phones. For details, please see this specialized website.

    Mobile phones (and PDAs) are computers so it is possible for viruses to be written to affect them just like any computer. Google <cell phone virus> for examples. Having said that the likelihood of infection is many times less than it is for a PC.

    Bluesnarfing is a more serious threat and even that isn't particularly prevalent because it is easy to prevent if you use security on bluetooth devices.

    So long as executable files for mobile phone/PDA are sourced from reputable sites I wouldn't have thought it worth bothering with any AV software.
