Hi all,

I am trying ( without much luck ) to source a screw / rivet to go in the front wheel arch of my 19 plate Ducato. To the front of the wheel arch there are three cross head screws, ( or they might be push in rivets) and one has dropped out.

Has any one had to replace one these and could tell me just what they are, are they screws or push in rivets and the best place to get them. I cannot get one of the others out to see what it is. I have bought three different screw so far and none of them fit.

Pics attached

Many thnaks

No, I dont think it is , it has got to go through the bumper and into the wheel arch lining as it hold the two together. I think its either a screw, or its a push in clip / rivet, but I dont know which.

It's just a flanged head self tapping screw. I don't know the size but if you remove one of the others, a pound to a pinch of dust that it will be the same.

The wheel arch liner probably has some like this on the edge going over the hole, so just as others have said just a washer headed self taper.

Yours might be on with a spire clip, but it's just as likely that it might have a tee shaped nylon insert inserted in the bodywork to accept the screw thread, kind of like a small square rawlplug ? I'd be visiting a local scrap yard and whipping something off a scrapped works van ?

Thanks all, Im not great at DIY, how does the spire clip work if one is needed. I have tried to shift one of the other screws -- but they dont really want to budge, and Im not sure I want to take one out, if a clip is going to fall out? Sorry for being dense

It’s very unlikely that you need the clip. They are sprung and can be a tight fight to slide on. Half goes above the plastic half goes beneath and then the screw through the middle. I’ve got boxes of black flanged self tappers if required. Also the spire clips 👍🏻

You will also be able to tell if it isn’t a self tapper by sticking a magnet on the one in the other wing.

Thank you, I have got a selection box on order, hopefully one of those will fit
