Hi, I am looking at buying a Swift Sundance 630L.

Couple of things, firstly does anyone have experience of these vans..anything I should look out for?

Secondly...the van is a 2012...but has 49k miles on the clock..it doesn't bother me, but compared to other vans I have looked at, is this high or avergae? If high..is this a concern?

Thanks

What's average?
Some vans are used every weekend and a few full weeks or longer each year, some are occasional weekend use and maybe an annual two week trip to the same campsite.
Actual mileage means nothing as far as the engine is concerned. 250k miles may be considered high.
If its only a few thousand it probably means it's either not been used which means the interior should be in very good condition or its been sited and used a lot putting wear on the interior.
The only real way is have a look.

Hi Paul, have you read the 'Buyer's Guide' on this forum? It could save you a lot of heartache not to mention a LOT of expense, if you subscribe you get it free, if not it's £7.99.

Ours is 2012, 1 previous owner and had 37k when we got it this year, I came to the conclusion it had done more travelling than actual use as the the interior was in such good condition.

Last week we did 1,300miles, in the previous 3 months 36miles. An average is pretty meaningless for our usage. However Id say about 50k in 7 years is about as average as it gets.

Not even run in yet! I'd be checking service history and overall condition of the vehicle - mileage doesn't look excessive.

Sounds quite low to me, it's all relative, we do about 9000 a year in our van. We do a couple of trips a year that are around 3500 miles each then a sorter one about 1500 miles. That's only our main holidays.

Our Sundance has just that mileage on it, it drives like a new one.

And for what it's worth it's up for sale.

My 2012 is around 66k now and it’s just starting to get to that sweet spot of running lovely..?

Judging by mileage alone is challenging. It is what type of travelling and how frequent. All motorway is probably gentle on the engine and brakes. Short windy roads may have worked the engine hard and worn brakes and the like. If there have been long trips and then not used for a while, some of the mechanics can start to seize up.

But where has the van been? How many people used it? Was it left around many beaches so salt can have got to the underneath innards and they dragged sand through the interior?

Only having a close look, and having seen a few other vans, will you have an idea of whether this one is in reasonable order for it's price, or not.

We have a Sundance 630G which we bought ‘new’ in November 2012 although it’s a 2011 model. So far we have clocked up 23,000 miles including several trips to Europe. In fact, as I type this we are having a rest in the motorway services near Lyon.

These vehicles are based on commercial vehicles, as has been said - 59k is only just run in. Overall condition is the main thing.
