Tyres manufactured in 11/18 and fitted onto my Mercedes Hymer 680 in July the same year. Vehicle in regular use and not stood for long periods. Covered less than 6000 miles since tyres fitted. Have found crazing/cracking on two out of the six tyres, although maybe worse as all 6 need to be removed for inspection. Have raised a complaint with Michelin and awaiting inspection shortly. We’re using van at the moment waiting a week until we get home.

Tyres we’re recommended to me by Michelin (have that email), when I couldn’t find Camping tyres in my size 195/70/15. They are correct re the load index, speed rating etc. They’ve been run at correct pressures monitored by TPMS. Tyre covers used when stationary to protect from UV. One of the affected tyres is front offside and the other is near side rear outer.

As far as I’m concerned these tyres have been well cared for and I was aghast at finding crazing on a tyre 31 months old!

Don‘t rush out and buy these!

Cheers Dave

From this and other reports on here it seems like Michelin may have lost the plot.
You have done everything to the letter so should have a good case for replacement.......but maybe you wouldn’t want Michelin again!

If they offer them for free I would...but then pigs might fly ;):giggle:

hi Dave if you forward that picture onto my mobile i will show it to our Michelin rep and try and help you.
my no. is 07802661334.In responce to Podneys post Michelin definately havent lost the plot .We do a lot of business with Michelin and the cross climate is still the best all season tyre on the market at the moment.

I have exactly the same problem on my Hymer B680 all be it 2006 vintage , rear Cross Climate is going the same way, not as bad as yours but still concerning, no idea if the inner tyre is doing the same without taking the outer off.
Date stamped 31/18 done about 3,000 miles, i havent got a receipt as they were on the motorhome when i bought it in July.

Mines a 2004 on the 4.6 ton chassis. In the same area on the tyre wall as mine though. It cannot be a load issue as the four wheels on the rear are way within the load index.

I do hope you’re right.
If they are the best,I dread to think what the worst are like.

There is another thread running at present with Michelin problems.

Thanks very much for your help , much appreciated.

Are these tyre issues happening only on dual rear wheels or are singles affected as well.. ???

It’s happening on my front single wheel as well as my rear so I wouldn’t think axle variations should make a difference

I've had these tyres on my dual rear wheel van for nearly 2 years now and have not noticed (admittedly not really checked) anything.
Will check tonight and report back!!

Sorry dark by time I got home last night but just checked and areas I can see are showing no signs what so ever of grazing on my Agilas Cross Climates.!!

As expected, being fobbed off by Michelin for the tyre crazing on my not three year old Cross Climates. Being suggested it's lack of use, incorrect tyre pressure or overloaded. Don't intend to give up without a fight.
