Maxfan

Anyone have an issue with there Maxfan , when switching on the dan works ok but the hood doesn't open unless I do it manually , anyone else have the same issue.

After a few months laid up, mine sort of hesitates before opening sometimes. Seems like the seal on the raising canopy is sticking to the roof. I'll get up on a ladder and try spraying silicone oil on the rubber seal.

If mine hasn’t been used for a while I will raise it via it’s knob, then use the motor after that. It gets stuck to the rubber stops whilst down too long, so the safety system stops it keep trying.

Thanks guys will clean the rubber seal and lubricate it .

I would run a bead of silicon spray around the edges they should stop it sticking. Do not use WD40 I have heard it damages the plastic over time.

There are two rubber stops that the plastic top sit down onto, not a complete seal. They are very easy to spot if you can view from above.
