Hi all, last week I became the proud owner of a brand new Sunliving motorhome only to smash one of my marker lights getting it through our gate! cue many tears. I've popped a new one on but the marker lights wouldn't work. An hour later they now work when the sidelights are on but go off when main dipped beam lights are on. When ignition is turned off they stay on which is very bizarre. Has the relay gone? if I'd installed the new one incorrectly surely it wouldn't work at all?

Many thanks, alex.

The sidelights on Fiat Ducatos are powered from the ecu not fuse, or relay. So it isn’t “standard “ wiring for your info, if Fiat is the base vehicle.

Yes it is indeed a Fiat chassis, would the lights on the coachbuilt section be something Sunlight have wired in?

If it's like our elddis they'll be wired to a relay fitted by the motorhome builders. Ours is an unfixed relay box shoved in the bodywork pillar behind the drivers seat.

Many thanks all. With the help of my 3 year old turning the headlights on and off I've identified the sun hold relay on the left that is clicking when the lights are turned on. I get a flash of the marker lights then nothing. Faulty relay or a ground fault? do relays go bad that soon I wonder? One of the led marker lights has water droplets inside the unit, could this be the cause?

Thanks Andy that's good to know. I've swapped out the light with small amount water and still no joy. Will order a new relay to see if that fixes the issue.

Is this naughty?
Take back to supplier and complain you changed a bulb and suspect their relay is faulty?

Yeah, definitely will do that if the issue persists but it's a bit of a drive back to the dealer. Relay is a fiver so will give it a whirl!

Is the new light you fitted identical to the one you broke, same part number.?
I assume they are LED's and will brobably have ballast resister in them and if not identical to the original it could upset the CANBUS.

It definitely looks identical with same part number but I have also ordered another light just in case. Think I might throw the old light back on tomorrow to see if that changes things

.

I replaced a marker bulb and the new one would not work on the van but it worked off the van. I found out as others have said there is no fuse as the canbus looks after that side of things on the marker lights. In the end I disconnected the battery ( make sure to disconnect any solar) to reset the canbus and it worked.

I had to go around my light disconnect a few of them. Operate lights a few times before they would come on, then start to reconnect until they all went out, indicating my faulty one.
