Looking for a list of garages that will allow me to fill my underslung tank for cooking and heating. Thanks

Morrisons and Asda in Leeds would not allow me to fill my gas tank. They said it was not for cooking and heating use. Morrisons are on this list FillLPG.co.uk

Is you vehicle recognisable as a motorhome/camper or does it look more like a plain van?

I seem to get the impression that garages selling LPG only want to sell it to people to run there vehicles. The garage attendants cannot tell if you are filling your vehicle for running or cooking and heating as both your fillers are on the same side out of there sight.

It seems the best way is not to ask and just do it which I am not very keen on.

Morrison's are sponsers/partners to Safefill bottles.... How on earth does one run a vehicle engine on these bottles.
I think Morrison Leeds need to be informed about their Safefill commitments !!!!

If the service stations are turning a blind eye to this situation why were these tanks made in the first place

I think it is crossed on the App but just to confirm BP at Long Sutton Lincs no longer sell LPG.

Why should you ask? Do you ask if they sell petrol for lawnmowers? The average filling station attendant will have a very limited understanding of the uses of LPG. Bear in mind any training given will relate to Autogas which is what they sell. The Autogas network is in place to serve customers who run their vehicles on LPG. The price includes road fuel tax. If you ask then the reply might be, correctly, that they don't sell LPG for cooking and heating. They might reasonably assume that your needs don't attract pre-paid fuel tax but they are unable to separate it so may be uncertain as to whether they should sell it. Uncertainty will default to "No".

Search for Sites also shows LPG stations
It does show them but gives no information on which ones currently have LPG available. I just did a quick scan of part of the SW Region on Filllpg and out of 35 LPG stations 10 currently have no supply available.

Remember that filllpg is updated by users, so it could be they have gas but no user has updated the website, if it says no supply it's worth ringing the station to check.

It helpfully shows when the information was last updated, which helps when narrowing down the choices.
