On the dash on our 07 ,2.4 transit , when switching the alarm on at night the gauge above the speedo usually reads what temperature it is outside the van.
Its been giving temperatures of around 7 at night until 2 nights ago.
We are in Portugal so temperatures only go down to around that at night anyway but the last 2 nights is been reading 'low outside temperature'
What's that all about?

It means that the temperature outside is low, more specifically I think it says that its 4 degrees or less, it's meant as a frost/ice warning when you are driving

With clear skies, as we are experiencing in Portugal at the moment temp. will always drop at night and recently down to freezing depending on where you are.
The nights are still much longer than the days so until that changes night time temps. can get down low.
At Padern last night it was 1 deg.
