Has anyone been under that arch/bridge at Bolton Abbey just been looking at some photo’s friends of ours have just sent and it looks awfully low in theory we should get through ,we are 3.2 m and the bridge is 10foot 9inch . We are booked into the Howgill’s caravan park tomorrow but like some reassurance if anyone been through in a motorhome .👍

I went through it in my first outing in my New to me Arto and I must admit it was very tight and I could hear something scraping from the roof which was the aerial luckily that folded flat . 🥸

Just to get you worrying again..... Is it 10' 9" in the center or at the edges.

Isn’t that to the top of the arch not the arch sides.
It will be at the lowest point at the edge
There would be many insurance claims if it was the top of the arch...... Something along the lines.... It says 10ft 9in and I'm 10ft7in and got stuck.

This one's a cracker..... Shows 9ft3in at this side but 9ft 6in at the other side.
(Google maps only shows this side)
Luckily it's a dead end road on the 9ft 6in side so doesn't apply

How tall was the Arto Mike ?

I’ve just asked Ralph.
We’ve been through it in Pug loads of times (Peugeot boxer )
We’ve also been to Appltreewick and stopped at the campsite with the CI Mizar previously too. It’s the width we worried about more.

Come to think of it we’ve been through it with a caravan too 😵

Is that the ci model with the over cab bed ?

You will be fine, just don’t leave your dish up

Single deck buses go through the arch without a problem. It’s usually wing mirrors that can cause a problem and need to be pulled back. We‘ve been through in our previous 2003 Autotrail Tracker (old style).

Do they , that’s reassuring should be ok then . Thanks

Just to raise a smile I was convinced for some time that my moho was 12ft something and stopped several times to check the height of the bridge , only now do I realise I typically have another metre to go before I have to worry abiut any thing :-)

To save everyone else checking

10’9” is 3.276m 😁👍

it looks low in a car 😳
You effectively a 3 inch clearance but the arch may be lower than at the centre. I am not sure what the regs are (if there are any that is,) for measuring a bridge of this sort. Many have arrows indicating the measurement point. We came though a 3.3mtre arch bridge only the other day which had markers to indicate where it was measured. We are actually 3.19 metres and came though one in Germany marked as 3.2 (did it dead slow!)

I once worked in a local brewery. Drove the van into the covered area full of bricks. Unloaded and couldn't get out do to difference in height. Had to let all the tyres down to get out. Just saying.
