I have enjoyed learning new skills during this year and am shocked by how many people are actually in to handcrafted items. I guess my life was so fast paced before that i never really noticed how many people make things. Ive learnt to knit, draw, card make, quilt, sew and paint this year. Plans for next year - crochet, needle felt and pottery.

Ive loved looking at what everyone has made in the various threads on fun.

Please post your fave items to give me some inspiration. Ive made lots of things this year but really enjoyed making this box frame for my eldest daughter .

Nothing to post, I’m afraid, but how lovely. Learning new skills, seeing new places, meeting new people is what keeps us alive ...

Why don’t you join our learn to crochet thread:xsmile:

im going to do. just not sure how much data i will have while we are away (if we ever make it ) so was going to wait till i got back. I used to be able to do granny squares when i was little, i just dont seem to be able to crochet in lines. when i try and do rows, they get smaller and smaller till i end up with a triangle :xdoh:

Ive binge watched Kirstie........does that count?xroll:
And me, you can't beat it can you.
I learnt green wood working, so everyone has had useful wooden implements for Christmas from me.
Here’s a few items I made.

You are really good at that, beautiful work.

This is just one of my mouse creations, they are mounted on a darning mushroom.

I need to get my craft room sorted and set up now so that I can do more creating......at the moment I am a tad frustrated about it.
I fancy having a go at PMC(precious metal clay) it's an expensive hobby though. Does anyone else on here do it?

I stand guilty of never looking on the hobbies section.
I will look in future and see what I might be able to make attempt at !

@movan wanted to post a paper cutting craft on the craft group thread. Its amazing. It's on her Facebook but neither Joy or I know how to put it on here. Any help, please?

Ive made these today.. mainly hand worked with only a little assistance from a machine..
Do they count ?

Hooks for the kitchen rail in my chausson... it came with two plastic hooks and apparently hard to come by..

My daughter made me the necklace using Fimo type clay for the (supposed to be ) cubes. It looks better on than in the photo. It’s a knock off of Coeur de Lyon ones which are £125
I guess PMC could be used for this sort of thing? I’ve never heard of it,

The PMC I want to try is the silver clay and once fired it is pure silver, no added metals like Sterling Silver, hence the reason it's expensive.

Andy.

I used to make 3D decoupage pictures but gave up when I had boxes full of finished items and nothing to do with them

Thats a shame..
I had an aunt who made all her own cards..and sent them to family at birthdays and xmas..
To buy that sort of thing would cost a fortune.. in fact folk wouldnt pay what the items are worth in terms of the time taken to make the stuff..
I think it the same with most hand made items...
So basically if you are into craft or making things it has to be for the love and enjoyment ..
Andy.

I started off with cardmaking and made all our Christmas cards this year.

Once we get back to the UK I have some new projects to do. My lovely hubby bought me a Cricut Maker machine for my birthday in November which will cut card, leather, thin wood, vinyl, paper, fabric etc. I cut out some patchwork pieces and brought some away with me to sew. For Christmas he bought me a sewing machine. Getting to learn how to use both should see me through the shock of the return to cold weather.

First attempt at patchwork - the tartan effect one is my late dads pyjamas.

I’ve joined a few craft groups on Facebook and am looking for inspiration on there and Pinterest.

Forgot to say, I’ve not ventured into clay or polymer clay things yet although I was bought a pottery session for Xmas that I can’t wait to have a go at.
