Always learning.
Morning all,I’m thinking of storing our loungers on the bike rack,( which is not being used as don’t have bikes, obviously) I’m just considering the pit falls, or maybe overthinking, but what’s the best way ( in your opinion) to tie them down, I’d hate to see them fly down the road and hurt someone. Would bungees be adequate or ratchet straps? ( I know I’m gonna get some hilarious answers, and can’t wait) (y)

You could fit a Fiamma box and put them in that, it would keep them safe and clean.

I used bungees and never had a problem. Just always make sure they are secure before setting off.

I used to put my wife’s fold up wheelchair on ours, as long as it’s tied on securely it’s ok, bungees, ratchet straps or rope any would do.

Loungers on the bike rack.

Did they not used to be called "illegals" and were stored underneath?

As for storing chairs I would consider security dependent upon the "value" of the chairs. Perhaps "locked" on?

I'd put them in black bin bags or get some proper covers, even a small bike cover would likely do, otherwise they could end up extremely mucky. Also make sure you put a lock/chain on to prevent them being nicked.

Brilliant (y) The chairs are just normal loungers, and we’ve had them years, but I agree, I don’t want some scrote nicking them, so I’ll look into some locking gizmo,(y)

I personally would use more than one ratchet strap so it’s solid & more than one securing it. I would also lock them together & to the rack re theft. Don’t forget you may well have to put the extension board on the back just like you would do if the bikes were there re the protrusion

Totally agree,I have enough tie downs and straps I could hold an airship down, lol,,I don’t think my two chairs will stick out that far, but I will stick a triangle on them, if needed,, thanks for all the help, much appreciated👍👍

Edit: combination bike lock for security.
Most combination locks are rubbish I'm afraid, if I had chairs which I wanted to keep I'd use a couple of different types of quality locks which would required different tools for a scrote to remove them.
