LONELY PLANET’S ‘BEST IN TRAVEL’ 2019

I do wish they would stop praising The NC500 route, its already over used, in some parts during the summer months.
Last time I was up there in the far north I drove most of it before it was listed as "The North Coast Route", unfortunately that was before we had a MH, just a car and a tent.

Makes me want to go. Our first year of MHing, we did Scotland, furthest point was just up to Fort William, but I loved Oban and Loch Lomond, Hate the midges thought cause they think I am delish! Vowed wouldnt go again, but thinking about Easter two weeks as it’s quite late. Anyone have the knowledge about weather and midges that time of year?

My wife is from Thurso though we haven't been back up there for twenty years, it was starting to get busy then. No midges at easter time usually and plenty other parts of Scotland to visit that are equally beautiful. My favourite areas are the western Isles and the South West where we have settled.
