i am locked out of my van it is a Rapido 9048 with a Hartal door, when using the Fob or the key the lock sounds as if it is opening but it won’t move, I can’t get in the passenger door as I am parked too close to my garage wall to get the door open more than a few inches, all windows are locked. Any suggestions!

Through a roof light?

Are you able to get something in via the passenger door, eg broom handle etc, and reach the door release on the dash or hook it over the driver's door lever?

Cant you get in the drivers door using the key? Living in Edinburgh its maybe been frozen, starting to warm up now so give it another try while pulling the door.

Roof lights are locked,
The door release on the dash is unlocking

Not got a drivers door

Had to look at a pic of your mh model to see how it looks with no door!

Is it worth just trying a different new battery in your key fob?

Perhaps just the cold messing with the locking system.

I only have one lock on the driver’s door on my Peugeot 307, always freezes in the cold. I have to use the key as remote doesn’t work. I had to hold a hot water bottle to the lock to open it!

the contacts are at the lower part of the door abot 12" up. press against the door to improve contact and operate the central locking. that works if it is just the central locking on the Hartal door.

if its a lower catch spring gone you will need to get in the van to sort it.

good luck.

I have tried batteries, it unlocks the passenger door fine & the habitation door sounds as if it’s unlocking

Try pushing the hab door in first, ours used to stick.

its either the central locking poor contact on the circuit at the door or its the internal lock springs which are flimsy to say the least and have a habit of breaking.

the contacts on my door need regular cleaning to prevent the same as you are experiencing happening

see my post above,

have you tried pressure on the lower part of the door to improve contact?

if you have as you say need someone inside but someone who can manipulate the door if the grandchild is up for that your in luck...

Is it on hook up, if not if battery low door mechanism may not work correctly, if that were the case plug it in so battery charger operates.

Trolley jack rear up (handbraked wheels) and pull it out of garage with another car?

Daft question but have you tried giving the hab door a bash near the lock (not too hard though) ... it's amazing what a good bash can sort out sometimes! :boxing: :D

That was my next move, but No1 grandson saved the day

Oh dear ... that's not gonna be cheap! If you have any metal working/fabrication companies near you might be an idea to visit and see if they can make the part instead.

Get it brazed back together
I can’t find a replacement so may have to get it repaired but would this not be very weak as it is only a tiny piece of metal?

When are they going to stop using monkey metal and add a little re-enforcement.
There's a couple of places could do with more metal and wouldn't interfere with anything else.

thats cast "crap alloy"! you be very lucky ( not impossible ) to get a reliable weld / bond on that stuff.
