Depends on what you want it to power. It has a max discharge of 100amps so no good for an inverter over about 800 watts.

There are a couple on the classifieds……only £1250 (that’s twelve hundred and fifty quid) each……..

really, these may be good enough for nuclear subs, but £50 for a lead acid which will last for ages is fine by me.
Yes I saw those, a very good brand but wow, really expensive 😳

I’m looking at possibly two lithium batteries or one larger one (200amps+) running a pvc and an inverter of around 800-1000w for to charge electric bike batteries and whatever on occasion….😎

As with lead batteries having two or three in series’s or parallel is the better, is it the same with lithium..?

ie: two 100amps or one 200amps..?

I have bought a 300a fogstar £ 850 a bargain I think.
That does seem good compared to a lot of other options.

I've been thinking about upgrading for some time I have to admit, thinking of upgrading my current one solar panel / one SLA battery to either a lithium battery or a lithium plus additional panel.
Have to admit other than at this time of year I manage but am careful about energy use in the motorhome as there's been a couple of times where the panels warned me about the battery getting low.

Is it really worth getting a single 300ah lithium though over a standard 105ah lithium if they have a deeper discharge than what I have?

Similar conundrum to many of us over the past couple of years.
My 200 ah of gel were just about sufficient for our needs. 2 Ebikes getting charged plus general use, but the sun had to shine and I have 370 watts of solar. (We use MH in summer in France mostly)
Rather than replace the 200 ah of gel with equivalent 100 of lithium i went for the 200 ah of lithium thinking (and it has been so far) that will be enough and paid the 650 for that.
If the 300 ah were available for 850 at the same time I would have gone for that as the size of the 200 ah of lithium means adding another battery is not possible within the same location.

Good luck with the decision making

Yes, this is also my worry about positioning, i see that the lithium batteries are taller than standard, i need to go measure where the current sla one is and see if it would even fit as a direct replacement.

Even though I measured it knowing it would go in, I didnt overly take too much notice of its size and had to move a couple of things about.
When it physically turned up and put it in the thought "That is a bit closer than I anticipated" came to mind immediately.

It goes underneath a single seat (in our van) and with the inverter and fuse board it needed placing and no chance of another

Having two slightly smaller capacity batteries in parallel does halve the discharge rate when placing a heavy load on. Must be kinder to the batteries whatever their claimed max discharge rate.

Possibly quite right but I want a simple solution really, ie swap out the sla for a Lithium just to make life easier.

Here's the current setup

And after measuring it does appear there would be enough room indeed for the 300ah lipo4 from fogstar.

3 other issues I need to investigate now though.

1. I have a vanbitz B2B controller fitted and dont know if this will still be ok?
2. Does my motorhome have a "smart" alternator and will this be an issue if it does or doesn't?
3. My current solar controller doesn't seem to have a setting for lithium

Lithium is certainly coming down in price.😎
This is true and is a bullet point with both buyers and sellers, however, there is a vast amount of difference with the internal lithium pods and it’s not really made clear how these perform as overall statistics are often similar.
l have used the Sterling brand in the past when lots of the brands you see now were not produced.
My current MH is fitted with a Steitz branded unit and the performance is amazing far outreaching previous set ups, however, the cost is mind blowing.

This is very true 👍😉

But I want to know what the difference is between a Roamer 460ah LifePo4 battery at £1700 and a SuperB 340ah LifePo4 battery at £4200

The cell quality and BMS surely is the only possible difference but £2500 more for 120ah less doesn’t add up

Or does it, will one make me 🥶 and the other 🌞

Or a fogstar 460amp at £1350 with 10 year warranty, Bluetooth, built-in heater and 200amp max charge and discharge rates. (Basically the same as roamer).

Or why not have a generator fitted, cost under £4k and give you 3kw of AC power….?
