Planning on pasing through Lincoln on our next trip, advice or suggestions as to what to see, as well as Cathedral and Lincolnshire Life Museum.
No problem with parking as expect to come in by train, the station looks pretty central - as does the bus station come to that.
Thanks in advance

Mike and Ann

The station is very central, right on the main street really. I recommend the castle for a look. Lots of history, you can tour the old prison and there is an original copy of the Magna Carta in the basement.

Btw, there is a great Pie Shop at the top of Steep Hill. Worth it for that alone.

There used to be a tea shop with all types of loose tea and a whiskey shop on steep hill as well. Not been for a long time so might have changed

Close by is Newark and the Air museum. Keep a look out for their specials such as "Cockpitfest" and "Cold War call-up" where we will be giving cockpit tours of XV490 and F-4 phantom, with genuine ex phantom aircrew. Worth a visit on any day if you like aircraft http://www.newarkairmuseum.org

If you head up high street from the station the black and white cafe on the river bridge is very nice. If you follow the passage down the steps at the side it will take you along the river to Branford Wharf.

Sorry that should be Branford Pool.

I will try again Brayford Pool. Senior spelling strikes again.

Is that the Highbridge cafe? On top or the river? 👍

Don't expect to expect it to be very exciting. Enough said.

Best coffee I've ever tasted at Stokes Lawn cafe behind the castle. The same people own the Highbridge cafe.

You wouldn't like it in Lincolnshire. It is a local county for local people. There's nothing for you here.

Afraid there is……a son, his wife and two Grandchildren. You’ll have to put up with us invading you ‘Duck’. :ROFLMAO:
