Ok I'm in the market for two new batteries. At the moment I have two hankook 130ah each now 5 years old and had some abuse with the inverter. I have 250watt of solar. Should I stick with them or would two LFD 90 Agm batteries be better for off grid camping?

LFD90 batteries aren't gel 🤔?

If you're keeping the van a while go for Exide (or equiv) 80ah gel batteries 👍

Cheers I will have a look

Stick with the Hankook. I've just bought two 130Ah at £105 each because I thought they were top value for money. Five years is good in my book. Not AGM imho

Gulp I have just had a look at the Exide 80ah gels coming in at £165.
😁 Makes it double bad if you want 2 😏
That's why I said if you're keeping the van. They last years 👍

Oh also you can drain them to 20% without damage so you may get away with just 1. Have you got solar?

Personally if you've had 5 years I'd say that was pretty good value so go with the same. I've never had 5 years out of any leisure batteries - mind you I've only ever had one motorhome out of the 18 we've had more than 5 years!

The battery only has to last from dusk to dawn then. The 250w panel will soon wallop it back in when the sun gets up.

We've got a 150w panel and a single exide 80ah gel and it's more than enough for us. Main load is tv on for several hours in the evening, ceiling fan and phone chargers.

Read this informative piece regarding suitability of AGM’s for leisure use.
If I have to replace mine it will probably be for gels.

If you're using an inverter, I think gels are the least suitable of all the lead-acid variants. They don't like amps greater than 20% of Amp-hour capacity.
