Leaking tap insert

Not sure on your taps but if it's wrong you can return to SF for a refund.
Most MHs use 12 mm pipe but no idea if the part you are looking at is 12 mm or 15 mm or anything different.
I always use domestic taps on my builds. The hard part was getting 15 to 12 mm reduces. Have got loads now so no problems

Where’s the tap leaking from. My tap, a different make was leaking around the swivel part and I stripped it down and silicone greased the seals and that fixed the leak.

Morning guys

Apologies for delay but was travelling yesterday.

This is the tap we've got the problems with -

Like Manic it's leaking from the top joint of the swivel.:crying:

We're down in Cornwall at the moment and just found there's a Screwfix in Truro (where we'll be walking around today!) so, given it's less than a fiver and they have it in stock, will pop in and pick one up.(y)

Don't want to faff about with it before we head out so will strip down and try fitting later. Fingers crossed it is a 35mm diameter and fits!:pray2:

Got the part linked to above from Screwfix @£4.76 this morning and looks an exact fit!

5 minute job to replace the existing one with only the following tools required,
  • a 2.5mm allen key
  • a plumbers wrench or large adjustable spanner
Procedures
  1. Turn off the water supply and remove pressure \ drain through the tap.
  2. Check alignment of and gently prise out the blue \ red temperature indicator under the tap lever.
  3. Using the 2.5mm key loosen (do not fully remove) the grub screw revealed.
  4. Remove the tap lever.
  5. Unscrew and remove the "domed" collar the tap lever fits over.
  6. This reveals a large brass nut, unscrew and remove this.
  7. Pull out the existing ceramic insert.
  8. Replace with the new one ensuring the two tabs \ dimples are aligned.
  9. Replace the brass nut.
  10. Replace the "domed" collar.
  11. Replace the tap lever and tighten the grub screw.
  12. Replace the blue \ red temperature indicator (ensuring correctly aligned).
  13. Turn on the water supply.
  14. Test the tap by filling the kettle.
  15. Boil the kettle.
  16. Make the tea.
  17. Enjoy tea!
Will check over the next few days to confirm all good.

Agreed but I would spend £50 on a pump and do away with micro switches 😉
