We developed a leak from this large rooflight! I seen a vid on youtube using a bread knife to break the seal to the roof skin, I did try this but the stuff is solid and no real gap between the plastic frame and roof skin to get in! My worry was the plastic is brittle (maybe the cold) or the 20 year old MH! Someone has bodged it before with a bead of silicone, As a temp fix I removed the silicone and cleaned as best I could before putting some fresh silicone in to hopefully keep the water out for now. The water tends to sit on the roof in this area which I guess does not help.

The MH is a 2002 ace milano with an alu roof skin, I'm open to all advice? My thinking was maybe a vibrating multi tool with a cutting blade but again worried about the frame breaking, they are expensive!

Thanks Ronnie

Use a big paint scraper wider and lifts it spreading the load. Do it bit by bit and you will get it off no problem. 👍

I use a Stanley knife that holds long extending, and wife blade (25mm) The blade then comes out 75mm and lubricating the blade with a few slides allowing a bit more blade each time. The length also allows the blade to bend so can stay parallel tithe roof.

I had a leak on one of mine and put a bead of Stixall around it till the better weather.
