We have just changed to RAC arrival, through the C&CC, or more correctly trying to complete the registration form.

The problem I am encountering is confirmation of password on the registration page. Lastpass will not allow the password to be confirmed, but inserts another, which causes a rejection.

Could any Lastpass user please advise how I can overcome this difficulty, there must be a way but every attempt, so far is rejected.

Discussions with RAC keep going round in circles and we are getting nowhere .

Hope someone can heelp and thanks in anticipation.

Thanks SteveJ,

I thought the copy and paste method would work, but unfortunately it still changed both password and confirmation of same. Thanks anyway.

I gave up on LastPass, nothing but problems with it and it doesn't want to play nicely with my other security software.

I use KeyPass on my PC and phone, and although it can be set up to autocomplete passwords, I just copy and paste the required fields.

No idea why that posted twice, sorry!

Firstly, check your Vault and remove any records relating to the site you're trying to register with.

Then let LastPass generate the password on the registration page; it should then fill both password fields.

I have LastPass syncing across MacBook x2, iPad and android phone

I'm a big user of Lastpass (I have well over 300 work related log in's and passwords ....)
I find the easiest way around this problem is simply to log out of LastPass
(Open LastPass vault, click on your name top right, select 'log out')

Long term though you need to get to the bottom of the problem.
I would suggest search for the user ID as a first thing, as you probably have a duplicate entry

Also check you don't have log in's/passwords saved on Chrome !
Click on the purple circle top right with your initial in it.
Select passwords
See what you have got!

(If you are using Lastpass then there should be no passwords in Chrome that are associated with things that cost money or save credit card details)

Pasting in a password on some sites won't work due to the way they are set-up so go to your vault, find your password and type it in manually, same with the ID too if it doesn't like that either.

No:
Or more correctly, not ones with money connected to them such as Amazon, your bank, etc.

I would stronly suggest it is worth paying a small annual fee for one of the web based password services.
(Last Pass free for 3 months 'try before buy' then £20 PA if memory serves)

The main advantages are:
  • They should be secure
  • You have all your passwords in one place
  • If you have them active on your web browser they automatically remember passwords, so you do not have to do a big entry sesion
  • They are accessable on any PC you use, I can access from both home and work PC's
  • For the person with the master password (or finger print) they are accessable on your smartphone
  • Which means no more forgotten PIN numbers in the supermarket
  • If your PC crashes your passwords are all safe
  • If your drop dead a selected person will get the master password
  • If you have lots of passwords then you can file them in groups and sub groups
  • Good search facility
  • Ability to file other things such as copies of passports and vehicle documents
  • Ability to keep items such as numbers for key safes and padlocks
The down side:
  • You get what you pay for and LastPass ain't free!

Yes it is, at least the version I use, which is more than sufficient for my needs.

Free version is fine for me.

I do not like it to log me in to any financial sites but rather have them saved as a secure note with clues/letters missing etc.

I have also found some sites where you have to actually type in the details rather than paste
