IMG_0565.JPG I have an acer aspire es 15 laptop,,

I have a few dramas with it and have had for a while!! It has a really twitchy pad and mouse, sometimes shooting all over the place,, now that isn't too much of a problem except that yesterday it did it, it seems to have a mind of its own,,, now today, every ten seconds and I mean every ten seconds this white box appears onscreen and all I can do is x it off, I don't know how to get rid completely,, it says at the top of the box

C program files (x86) Amazon/ Amazon assistant!!! How on earth can I get rid of this bloody reappearing box,,, it's starting to do my head in?!

I have tried to uninstall in settings but it won't allow me to? Can anybody help? Xx

Unless you have reason to think this is not the genuine Amazon product, I would at least start with Amazons advice:

Problem solved,, thank you for your help and advice,, I ended up resetting to an earlier version of windows!! Sorted everything out thanks! Xx

I'm afraid it's reared its ugly head again!!

Fkg amazon help pop up!
Pissing me off now!!

I will sort tomorrow, it's doing me in now!!

Sound like you've got something causing mischief in the background ... a bit of malware or something, run Malwarebytes a couple of times just to be sure whilst you're NOT connected to wifi. Whilst you're at it for good measure do defrag too just to get the laptop clean and in good order, if that doesn't sort it see if you can find out if there's a fix/updated version for Amazon assist as it could just have corrupted ... or been at the booze!

Don't worry mate its easily fixed just follow these steps.

1. Unplug laptop from power supply to avoid any chance of electrocution.
2. Take laptop outside far away from Helga's delicate body.
3. Take your toolbox from Helga to where you left the laptop ( make sure its the toolbox with the "Persuader" in it )
4. Use said "Persuader" on the laptop ensuring that you break into a sweat for at least 5 mins.
5. Stand back and feel that sense of achievement knowing that you have "cured" the problem and that nasty Amazon assistant will not annoy you anymore.
6. Go to PC World ( other retailers are available!! ) and treat yourself to a nice new shiny laptop.
7. Be sure to only visit "trusted" porn sites in the future or you may find yourself having to repeat steps 1 to 6 again.

Ian joking aside you should google / youtube how to reset your laptop to factory settings, as its pretty easy to do with their acer recover partition.

If you mainly use it on the internet Ian I would suggest you have a look at a Chromebook. It is a Google based device so it is easy to use if you have an Android phone experience. Starts up almost instantly and because you are linked to the web any updates are downloaded seamlessly meaning that you have the most up,to date operating system and no silly problems you get with Microsoft.

Give you old laptop another go Ian, I doubt there's anything seriously wrong with it ... it could simply be a 'virus':

One thing you could do is re-install windows as that would more than likely cure the problem and also 'clean' the system anyway so it should run much better too.

Don't get a Lenovo Yoga! I have that same wandering off of cursor, and it zooms in and out all the time on the web. I HATE WINDOWS 10! Had to take it back to Currys because it totally froze and they had to put it back to manufacturers' spec. So had to reload all my software and antivirus stuff. Now I HATE LENOVO TOO.

I did something to it last night Minxy,,,

Now all I got is a black screen and the apps that the manufacturer put on! No internet thingy or browser so I can't do anything,, I think I screwed it!!

not at all Ian you should be able to do a factory reset on it so it will be like when it came from the factory

If you have given up all hope on this laptop Ian try this :

Beware it will wipe all your personal data , pics , passwords , video's etc

I already wiped all data and non supplied apps Bart !! All I got is a few basic apps down the left side!

It updated itself to windows ten and that's when I started getting all the bloody problems! So I restored it to an earlier version of windows and for two hours it was fine,,, then that bloody amazon help box started again,,, so I went back to settings and chose to do a reset wiping all personal data and apps!!

Left it overnight and now it's just a black screen!! To be honest, I thought it was a crap laptop anyway, especially with that super jerky mouse thing!!!

I shall treat myself to a new one for xmas when I get back to Canterbury!!

I got my Samsung tablet, another laptop that Polly gave me, for Netflix and my phone,, so I have enough tech!!! Xxxx

If you fancy treating yourself then go for it Ian :)

I will always go for it Bart!!

That's why Ive ended up in a snow covered field living in a tin box with six bits of rubber keeping me off the ground!!!

But I'm happy !!! Lol xx
