Any recommendations for somewhere to stay en-route for a couple of nights. In an ideal world a Vet in the vicinity would be perfect

Lovely site but can't help you regarding a local vet.

Or search European vets for pet passport it's very good and works great used today found really good vet 22 euros near Omaha beach

There's a nice municipal site at Sees. Supermarket opposite the site, short walk to town but not having a dog I can't help with the vet location.
