ex SIL wants to try out a caravan to see if she and new partner like the life, they retire soon. Theu are struggling to hire a non static touring caravan, would probably need to be sited. Any of the wonderful folk on here got any ideas, and yes have tried google. which despite having put in the no statics option comes up with statics 😡
might try another browser, great how they know about you initially it only came up with motorhome or camper hire, scary.

Never heard of caravan hire.
Seems a very high risk. It's a very big trailer to trust to someone who may never have towed larger than a small box trailer.
Insurance for the hire company would probably be cost prohibitive.

Saying all that I just googled touring caravan hire and there are loads of agents/companies offering caravan hire in the private sector.

IE. You rent out your caravan through a hire agent.

Thanks @papajohn will use that phrase in my search. they would want it sited for them as they don't have a tow bar at the moment.
When we had caravan holidays when the kids wre young often the caravan we hired was a tourer on a permanent pitch.

No idea where in the country they are, but we once bought a caravan from Ulverstone, they had a site at their dealership

they might do a ‘try before you buy’ option, at least they had the resource potential to do it, whether they would is another matter. But there might be similar dealer set ups elsewhere.

not checked they are even still there, we bought in 1995 🤔👍

I know you said no statics, but that seems to be what you will get if it isn't going to move  .
Staying in a caravan on a site is vastly different than towing and setting up one.

EX SIL wants to try out a caravan holiday with a view to buying a touring caravan when she retires. She and partner both drive and will learn how to tow if they like the experience. Bit like hiring a motorhome to see if the life is for you.
Thanks all for your suggestions, have passed them on and it is up to them to take it from here.
Told her my motorhome group would come up trumps.
You are all stars.
p.s. I have towed a caravan, although I didn't own it, have only ever wanted a 'dormobile'

I have never used them
