I've been suckered !!!!
Fear not you were not alone.

I showed the wife and said "Sort of looks like a model in that photo" meaning I fell for it as well

El Cid will be the only one drinking in the Spanish Galion, from the dog bowl
He usually drinks in the Vanbrugh, however!
Joking aside I used to be an assistant Manager in the Spanish (about 30 odd years ago) which is why I know the pubs! Cid was a real person, (probably dead now) his nickname fitted him. I do like Greenwich. Used to go into the painted hall in, what's it now a museum? All ratings bar! Ring the bell and don't pay a penny for the round. You had to be escorted onto the site at that time Petty Officer got us in. Happy times. !

Greenwich has changed a lot in the last 30 years.
The veg market behind the Spanish no longer sells vegetables, but you can buy a very nick nack for £50 (Cards only).

We got married in the Painted Hall, we believe we were the last couple to do so whilst of was still operated by the Navy.
Which means we never paid for our wedding reception ! (As there was no one left to send out the invoice!)
The money we saved paid for our honeymoon in South America

The Painted Hall is now part of the University of Greenwich, and it's now full of tourists and students.
The Admiral Hardy is now effectively a Student bar. The Vanbrugh still runs, they do a very good Sunday lunch.

Greenwich is well worth a visit, and by asking a knowledgeable local you can actually park a motorhome, for free, within walking distance of the sites.

I left Greenwich the year before it was taken over by the University, that will give you the time line. What a place to get Married! Gorgeous! Not something you will forget. Moved South to Longfield. Does the Knowledgeable local Know if you could park a 10m American RV (with electric) locally to you? Not Abbey Wood.

Park a 10m for free, yes. (but no leki). Vanbrugh park rd

Park with leki, yes, possibly.
There is a car park right next to the O2, by the Intercontinental Hotel
It's designed for the bands tour busses, they can plug in about 5 vehicles
You may need to call as the 'Tour Manager' for a band playing at the 02 to get the details.

Think I might have to borrow this idea, it’ll be the closest I get to a ski holiday this year!

I had to look twice, thought looks like a toy :X3:
