Well, this sad news totally sucks. Whilst I didn't have the fortune of knowing him outside of this forum, I enjoyed his banter and our interaction here. Condolences to his family and friends. He will be missed.

Never had the chance to meet Eddie but his many posts were always informative as well as often being entertaining.

Sometimes, it takes me a day or so to catch up with everything on here. Lately, I got quite used to seeing 'RIP' with a celebrity's name appended but today, I had to do a double-take at the name! The last time I read posts regarding Eddie, he was "ill" and receiving best wishes! The speed of the events has been a shock.

Like many, I've not met him BUT I enjoyed so many of his posts and acerbic wit. I enjoyed too his posts on importing - even though I wasn't in that particular bracket. He gave 'straight from the shoulder' advice on many subjects.

If you know him personally, please add my and my wife's name to those on here who send their deepest sympathies to his family.
