Thats a 1970 Rover p5b . with the lovely Rover 3.5 V8 :cool::love:

the last batch of P5Bs to roll off the Rover line in June 1973 was purchased by the British government and placed in storage, to be released for government use as required: subsequently registered relatively new looking P5s were therefore still familiar sights in Westminster for more than a decade after production had ended.

That's a Rover P5. :D

If I remember correctly first use of the light weight 3.5 litre V8 from General Motors in the USA.

Sorry. Yes, must be a Rover.

You’re right. They were a cracking car. Always fancied the coupe P5b. Never knew there was a camper conversion. Like you say ...... hens teeth.

No converter would use a prestigious (in its day) car as a base for a motorhome back then... Its a more recent self build.
I had a Vauxhall Victor 101 estate home conversion very similar 35 years ago

Yes Rover P5,my dad also had one of those.Used to like the way the rear doors opened opposite way to the front ones.

I was offered one of those free of charge by the then head warder of Walton gaol he had just bought a Datsun bluebird.

I think it was the P4 that did that. The P5 as far as I remember was conventional opening. (y)

Yes P5B I had a coupe in the eighties. Bought it for £150. Lovely car but a bit wallowy on the suspension, it weighed about 2 tonnes.

That's been at the Classic Car Show in the NEC for as long as I can remember. Doesn't look to bad up close

Allegedly. P5b was Thatchers favourite "ride" when she was P-M?. Guy in Swindon? I think owns the one she used. It was featured in a "Practical Classics" article a few years back. It has some "Strange" non O/E wiring apparently too?
