Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
My dear other half Mrsambulancekidd yesterday asked me "how many drill's does one man need?".
I was shocked that she should ask me such a daft question as Hazel isn't the type to ask a man silly questions & is normally very understanding of how a mans workshop should be.

I've recently upgraded my DeWalt collection by purchasing two new drill guns along with extra batteries to replace my old non lithium guns.
One is a light model for drilling pilot holes & one seriously powerful beasty for driving screws or serious drill working & my old DC988 as a backup, but I might sell this one on at a later date as the gun & the battery are in perfect working order.
I also bought the genuine lithium adapter to use my new batteries in my DeWalt 1/2 impact gun, so that's not a drill at all.

So come on gents, try to explain that a man can never have too many tools in his workshop, its just not possible?

Well so far I've chucked about 9 out on my mission to tidy up the garage although I seem to have started my own collection as I got one for mother's day from my son & daughter in law ?.

The answer to all things is as follows

n + 1

Whereby in this example n represents the current number of drills owned

But can easily be replaced by any of the following :-
Bicycles
Motorcycles
Motor vehicles
Or anything else that the you want

Where did you get that adapter? I am too attached to my old XRP to get rid of it because of battery life?

Looks to me like you really need an impact driver and maybe an SDS and perhaps a couple more batteries.
Isn't the one on the left of the middle picture an impact driver?

Only if he uses them, if he doesn't I will be using them to screw the lid on his coffin.??
I’m sure he has some ideas on why the investment has been made. I also have a nice collection of DeWalt equipment including a vacuum cleaner ? of course the other thing is that for men he who dies with the most toys wins ?

The question isn't is that an impact driver, the question is why do you not also have air powered hand drills, impact drivers and ratchets

Should you not have a pillar drill?

a lathe?

a chop saw?

band saw?

bench grinder?

angle grinder?

multi master?

electric plane?

circular saw?

router?

.................................

Wonder if Trophychap has meandered into this thread yet? I only ask because he was through gritted teeth forced to admit one of his - less than 20! - years old drill's motor really had popped it's clogs only yesterday. RIP.
