Happy to help
just seen this luckily no injuries. It just shows how flimsy these things are.

For anyone using the M1 south just before Meadowhall on Saturday, this was the cause of your hold up – a spectacular but thankfully only minor injury collision between an HGV and trailer and what used to be a caravan.

We appreciate that this would have caused a lot of inconvenience to people and we know that the tailbacks were quite significant, so we would like to offer some thanks and some apologies.

Insurance shall pick up the tab. Main thing is nobody was injured. Everything is replaceable, but can imagine how the owners feel, waiting all this time to get away and now this...dreams shattered. Sometimes you need to step back and look at the bigger picture that they are safe and well but it's hard when you had your heart set on getting away for so long. I really do feel for them.

Hi DiggerJohn, just read that news story. He got away with that cheap didn't he! £15 victim surcharge!!! 5 penalty points!!! for a life taken.

What price can one put on a life when taken away. Sad to read and upsetting for you since.I feel for you.

A few rolls of Gaffa tape will sort that.

My God John was that you?
"fraid so; worst day of my life so far. A day that has changed my life in so many ways but one that brought my family even closer together despite my fears at the time. Whilst devastated, I felt my loss was brought into sharp focus by the earthquake in China in May 2008 when 70,000 people lost their lives and the image that will always stay in my in my mind was the picture of a naked man standing on a mound of rubble under which was his complete family, his home, his belongings...everything. It proved to me that however low I felt, there was always someone worse off.
