I attach photo's of what I believe is a movement sensor that is attached to the inside roof near the habitation door.

I know it looks like one, but I do not have any information about this anywhere in all the info sheets I have. Not even in the Elddis booklet:X3:.

So is it a sensor, how do I set it upo_O, okay, is supposed to make a noise when it senses movement, but it does not, I have even changed the batteries, pressed the button as well, still no flipping go.
BUGGER:xsad:

It's wirelessly connected to your alarm and uses the alarm siren.
I think the button may be to deactivate it and not to test or trigger it.
And the second pic shows it is on, even if not active, as the red led is lit.
Try pressing the button and see if the red light goes out.

MH 55 FUN, I have that (thanks for the info). I set the alarm each and every time I/we leave the MH. I have even opened the door after some while, and still no alarm!!!!

My dear lady, has reminded me, when we deselect the alarm (switch it off using the fob) the front doors unlock, but, after a short while, while we are inside, there is a chirp and the front doors are re-locked and the blue alarm light starts to flash, but no alarm at all:cautious:

pappajohn, you must have exceedingly good eyesight, I cannot see the red light showing at all!!

The PIR may have 'unpaired' from the alarm unit.

The wireless door sensor and PIR did the same on my Blackwatch alarm system.
Took them out and binned them as useless junk

Bloody autocorrect... Should read Autowatch

We've got the same one. It doesn't make a noise, don't know what the button is for. If you press the alarm set button on the remote twice it deactivates the sensor.

The front doors will relock after a minute if you don't open one after unlocking them. We just use the alarm fob to disarm, that way the front doors stay locked and we unlock the habitation door with the key.

like I said, xcellent eyesight.

Okay, any ideas how to pair with the alarm unit. If total no go, apart from as you say PPJ sling it out, is there any alternative??

Sorry just realised its the third pic.

Could of course be reflected light but that's where I would expect to see the light.

Pairing..... No idea..... But Google might know.

Funny that, now I know I can inform her indoors that part is normal.

When I set the alarm button once it chirps, the second time the front door locks clunk. is this normal???

Relocking......a security feature.

If you unlock then decide not to enter the doors auto relock incase you forget if you got distracted.
If a door is opened it cancels the function.
Pain in the arse with my car if I'm carrying stuff to put in the boot.
By the time I get from house to car after unlocking the damned things relocked.

Possibly deadlocked

If you push the button for a few seconds a red light comes on as a walk test.
Test the PIR by putting it back press button a few seconds then walk around seeing if it lights.
After that test it by covering it with a cup for example, stand quietly and set the alarm wait 30 seconts and uncover the PIR gently and the alarm should go off.
Be careful not to move anything that the ultrasonic sensors in the cab would see.

Must be set up differently to ours, ours chirps and locks with one press.

Hi Richard have you tried pressing the button twice, I believe that's how most deadlock functions work, it does it on my Peugeot fob. I have not got the Autowatch on my Elddis I have the Growler and Non starter.:xThumb:

IR sensors are a waste of time in a van, had one in our last van, didn't bother in current van. Found if you went out and left the heating on the alarm would go off. Alarm also went off randomly if the batteries in it were low.

It appears to have 2 x large button batteries, maybe 2023 or 2022 something like that.
Might be worth changing them...

Yes once I have used the remote to unset the alarm on my auto watch system it will relick itself after a few minutes unless you open and close the drivers or passenger doors It doesn't recognise as you being in the vehicle if you only enter the hab door. So I unset my alarm then open and close my drivers door and the alarm m stays off.

Says in the first post they have been changed.

Like wireless cameras.... Load of unreliable crap.

Best to disarm it after you've both turned in or it'll keep going on, off, on, off, on, off, on...............;)

I thought that, that is why it now has two new ones in. Batteries are the 2023 type, It don't hurt any to replace them from time to time.

Thanks for the info Tonka. PPJ it don't hurt any to be reminded, I do that a lot of the time. Reminds me though when I lost the keys to my motorbike, I was constantly being asked 'have you checked your pockets Dave", Each time I was asked I purposefully removed all items from my pockets to show no bike keys were there, that must happened at least a dozen times.

I checked our batteries after 4 years and they were less than 1.5v so I replaced them. So they should last at least 4 years (y)

The button on the unit is to put it into walk test mode which will last for 3 to 4 minutes before going back to it's normal operation. When in walk test mode the red led will light when it senses movement. In normal operation the led does not light when it senses movement to conserve battery life. @Flook if with new batteries fitted and you don't get the walk test mode then it's likely the unit is buggered.

Thanks Paul, I will bell you maybe this evening, I expect you may be at work, so I do not want to disturb.

After speaking to Paul (Two on Tour), I re-fitted the sensor, instead of pressing the lock on the key fob twice, I pressed once, waited over 30 seconds opened the habitation door and about three seconds later the alarms were going off.

So thanks for that Paul, and to everyone else who has posted.

I admit I was a tad disappointed, when I was working I had alarms inside the van, this made such a din that no one unless they came prepared with ear defenders wanted to go in. I even showed off to the Police when I had to do a job in Northampton. I was severely warned I should put a notice on the van making it plain that ear defenders were needed:confused:. My defence was 'if someone wants to break into the van they do it at their own risk, and why should I warn them, only a Richard Head would warn them. They loved my other idea I had at that time (back in 2000:whistle:) was my reversing camera(y), a B/W monitor inside the cab, camera at the back above the doors looking down. Great for close reversing:xThumb:. Shame I did not register that idea though, what ever became of reversing cameras.
