A wee bit maybe.

He has an impressive grasp of what is important and is not afraid to admit when he doesn’t know the answer, rather than fudge it. Makes some of the “pushy” reporters look childish.

As a result I don’t care what he looks like.

Oh Please!!

Grow up before it’s too late.

Ian
Why???????

Just because we grow old does not mean that we have to grow up. There's no fun at all in that ...........................

Or does that health person, Chris Whitty, look like a tortoise?

Craig
Looks more like the late great Niki Lauder to me. ::bigsmile:

Probably both.

And therefore fully meets the proud traditions of MHF. You do know what the F stands for don't you? Here's a hint ..................... :ROFLMAO:

Yes, and its fundamental rule is “Be nice”. The OP is way off on that measure.

Ian

Perhaps the op could post a photo of his face and see what happens

I suggest you have another read of those rules, since you have brought them up. Rule 1 is indeed headed "Be Nice" but it also says

"Be agreeable, even when you disagree. We do not allow personal attacks of any kind. Offensive, insulting, profane or vulgar remarks are prohibited. As is telling others to “Get a life “ “Grow up or ............."

I have seen much worse insults about people and groups in the jokes threads. I am sure that the OP was meant to be a light hearted joke and was nothing personal against the guy, who is doing a good job. I can understand you might find it not funny, I often find jokes posted on here are not funny. But there is no need to be rude to the OP by telling him to grow up.

A poor choice of words on my part. Apologies to simsy56 but do try to be nice to others; particularly those that are providing significant service to our country in these difficult times.

Ian

Yes I agree, I agree with both sides of this discussion, the problem is humour, my wife does not like my humour, just been laughing at that new BBC programme Mr Winner, very mr bean in style, but I just find it funny.
Mr Whitty is very impressive and I just prefer honest answers to questions, I am still unsure why the journalists don't agree on questions prior to asking so that it only gets asked once.

My intention was a light hearted comment that Chris Whitty, in my opinion, reminds me of a tortoise. That's all. No malice at all, was intended.

I do not doubt his wealth of knowledge, professionalism and contributions to the health services for one minute.

With a title like this, I admire the man.......

Christopher John MacRae Whitty CB FRCP FFPH FMedSci Physician and Epidemiologist, Chief medical officer for England, Chief medical advisor to the UK Government, Chief scientific advisor at the department of health and social care and Head of the National Institute for Health Research.

This thread was met with some interesting comments, some derogatory, but, that doesn't bother me at all.

I still maintain that Chris Whitty, reminds me of a tortoise. Make of it what you will.
