Setting of to France and Spain the end of March. Reading various posts beforehand suggesting many aires and campsites are full to the brim and not necessarily in the popular coastal resorts either.
My question to those already out there do you have a view if the aires and campsites are indeed much busier?

As are many supermarket car parks & surrounding roads.
inundated is the word.
I,certainly, have never seen this amount of motorhomes & camper vans in the 22 years we have lived here. What is noticeable is the sheer amount of spanish registered vans now travelling at this time of year.

We've been at the Anibal Area Autocaravanas in Aguilas for the past week and it's about a third empty. Before coming here we spent a week at Camping Los Escullos, similarly with plenty of empty spaces, even on Andalucia Day.
On our drive down from Santander we stopped at free aires and had no problems in finding a space.
There are certainly lots of motorhomes around - many free camping in the Aguilas area.
It may be different on the popular Costas, but in the places we've been to, there's been no problem at all.

We crossed Newhaven-Dieppe 19th Feb. Like you, we were seeing everywhere full posts. The only place we booked was Benidorm as neither of us had been before, there would have been pitches available though.

Yes its busy but we've not had any problems, we are currently at Carbonares, hoping the rain has moved on.

We were down there with Raul the other weekend & yes Anibals was a third empty but Bella Vista site was full, the beach had about 40 vans on it & 20 were parked in the road leading away from Mercadona.

We are at our house in la marina 20 minutes south of Alicante airport and the streets around the two camper parks are rammed with dozens of vans. No British ones though.

We’re at El Pinet on the edge of La Marina, been here loads of times and know the area quite well including the urb, it’s rammed or full whichever way you want to hear it

So was Area Narejos, Almerimar port, Nerja was 50%, Heradura full, Zenia boulevard plenty of room

Take note of Easter being a busy time in many parts...

We shot through France in the aforementioned pretty abysmal weather then slowly across Spain to near valencia. No issues at all with getting a space.
Our current hold up is technically full now but still space if you have a French attitude.
We have nothing to compare it to and will be closer to the coast and Valencia tomorrow during fallas season which may be heaving.
