The theme of our trip so far has been wind, sometimes just a steady buffeting and sometimes full on battering. Currently in the mountains 30 mins outside Alicante and it is around 13 degrees with a 40 km/h 'breeze'. The site is great, (Lo Tranquilo in Pinoso) with big pitches, great toilet/showers and a bar. The owner stated we are usually in the pool in November, alas not this November!

We are heading down to Cartagena tomorrow, to visit family. Unfortunately the wrong direction, we are hoping the weather sorts itself out soon.

It's the effect of the low pressure that's causing snow elsewhere. We think ourselves lucky we've only got the wind blowing.

I'm sitting on our balcony, 25 minutes inland from Mazarron and, because the wind is coming from the north east, I'm in a sun trap.

Might have to pull the blinds down soon to cool it down on here.

The beauty of a motorhome is that you can move it to a more sheltered spot or sit behind it to block the wind.

We are heading down to Spain and Portugal from Brittany next Friday. Hoping the weather will be warm enough for t shirts.

We flew home from Alicante on Friday, having driven up from the Mojacar / Garrucha area in Almeria where we'd spent a fortnight.

The weather was unbelievably hot for the time of year. Halloween, the temperature while driving the van 30 degrees!

This last week there was a light breeze, but no more. When we got to the storage hall at Alicante the owner was complaining about the high winds they'd been suffering for a week or more.

So a relatively modest 125 miles down the autovia made all the difference. We couldn't believe how lucky we'd been - 2 glorious weeks of blue skies and warm sunshine! :)

Now freezing cold and wet back in Blighty. :(

Breezy here in Alcossebre. The sun’s out, though, and we’re sitting outside drinking tinto verrano.

Mikebeaches, where did you stay? We are going to almeria in a few days .Would you be able to recommend anywhere that is super nice? TIA.

We arrived home from Spain just over a week ago. We're not keen on Spain during the late autumn and winter.

We have moved to Alcossebre and the wind has dried my washing very quickly tonight though I wish it would disappear during the day.

Where are you? We’re at Ribamar, and while it has been very windy most nights, during the day it has tended to quieten down and be quite pleasant. This area does seem to have very localised weather, I guess because of the hills just inland.

We are at Las Moreras, we haven't ventured out yet, only arrived late afternoon.

We were in there earlier shopping at Lidl :)
We called in Lidl about one thirty on our cycle back from The Grau,,BUSBY.

Sounds like you had a lucky escape from meeting us then :) We just came from El Grau, and were in Lidl around same time. Another 2 vans also parked up in Lidl.

Chazandzoe you may want to have a look at Camping El Cantal whilst in Almeria. It’s right on the sea front at Mojacar. It’s one of those random sites that you come across, there’s no set pitches you just go where you want, the facilities are very dated but clean. We are heading down there for the weekend, we like it as it’s dog friendly, you don’t even have to cross the road to get onto the beach as there’s a little tunnel that runs from the site under the road and onto the beach.

Also for a detailed and accurate weather forecast (including wind speed) use; Aemet. It’s the Spanish Met office website and the forecast is usually very reliable.

Although the suns out,the NW winds with Strong gusts have played havoc with our paddleboarding and bodyboarding.
Flat seas but very strong offshore gusts.
Looks better today so the paddle boards are coming out of the garage and we are having a paddle along the front at Torrevieja.(y)
