Installing sd card in a garmin sat nav.

Hi All
I have just purchased a avtex tourer two sat nav and want to put my sd card from my old garmin into my new sat nav.



I fitted the sd card into my old sat nav because I needed more space to update the maps.Do I have to wipe it clean before I put into my new sat nav or does it not matter.

Knowing how fussy and daft the average sat nav is I would certainly format the card first.
It doesn’t take a lot to confuse them.

I think you would have to format it to FAT 32

Most things needing an SD card require a formatted card. Any current data won't be readable by the new device.

Good luck, every time I try update my Garmin it throws a hissy fit requiring at least half a dozen tries ... damned technology .. does mi 'ead in

Just check what size capacity it will take.
Some devices will only take up to, for example, 32gb.
