Just fitted a Nextbase 522 dash-cam using an OBD power lead

what a neat and easy 'plug and play' hard wire solution..

I was bit nervous about using the OBD port but after reading more about it I went ahead and it works a treat..

Having a 12v permanent supply it can use Intelligent Parking Mode that triggers recording automatically when the G-Sensor is triggered, keeping your car safe when parked.

The OBD power lead is Ā£19.99 .. same price as the hard-wire kit for connecting to a fuse

I have the 622 and hard wired it into the fuse box using a piggy back fuse holder. Would like to do same as you have but Phantom have wired their alarm/tracker through the OBD. Might look again now. Thanks for the info

Two things for me Jim, ie, my OBD port is the multi pin round type, so unfortunately unable to use the kit.

Also, I keep my audio setting off, as whatever is recorded verbally, could possibly be used to incriminate yourself, should the footage be used as evidence. :(

Cheers,

Jock. :)
