I considered buying when I had my off road Suzuki jeep.
I realised I didn't need it as I'd know I'd gone too far when it fell over or started spinning going up hill.

Like I say, we have a level but nowhere I can place it so I can see it from the driving seat.
I just have to keep getting up to check it - as we all do I suppose - apart from the posh people who can afford a levelling system.
I am saving up.......

After SMC motorhomes cancelled my new PVC order and refunded my deposit because I complained that they were not keeping their promise and keeping me informed about delivery times, I bought a Benimar, which was far better equipped as standard, arrived in 2 weeks, and saved me £10k, and was sourced locally, I didn't mind spending £3.5k on the self levelling. :Grin:
 
If you want an ultra sensitive method that is truly accurate.

Screw a hook into the ceiling. Then use this to mount a plumb bob. With a 2 meter length and a dot on the floor you could get a perfect level every time :D :D :D

Having a ring on the end of the line would mean you could remove it and put it in a drawer to save it wacking you round the the back of the head when driving.

Edit: You might have guessed I am not of the school of getting it level.
 
You dont need a flat surface to put a level on, just get your van level and then stick one of those small round ones in a place that's easy to see with a hot glue gun (or similar)...you can adjust for a non flat surface with the glue so that level reads correctly.
In my last van I put it on the seat base
 
I have a cheap spirit level which works fine. I have tried two kinds of inclinometer but neither was sensitive enough. I'm not too bothered about being level as long as front left is not down, as then the shower won't drain.
 
Find a flat level surface and see if you are nose down or up and by how much then judge by eye when you get somewhere if it’s sloping up or down either drive in or reverse

Why not use wine for the first one too it's unlikely to be out enough to spill it and a lot easier to see than water if wine of a decent colour!

It was to avoid any possibility of a lecture about consuming alcohol before / whilst manouvering the van. :giggle:

Suffice to say the wine box lives right over the work top I use and is set up for immediate use at all times.
