Yeah, he got a bit freaky and weird that last few years. Lot's suspected he had mental health issues. The tax issue I think was part of him trying to avoid being tracked by the US government.R.I.P. didn’t know he was a wanted man. Rest in peace though
Sold to Intel about a decade ago. What of McAfee anti virus software - it was a product of choice at work by out IT department and since I've retired?
OuchI wonder if he had a virus?
Seriously, RIP Mr McAfee.

It was the bane of the IT department I was working for. It seemed to be indifferent about settings telling to to keep it's resource use low or only scan and update at certain times. So it would completely overload a servers for half an hour at a time and take down operations. The 'admin' security that was supposed to prevent desktop/laptop users from playing with settings was a joke. Which would be fine if it actually did its job, but there were several virus incidents while I was working there. What of McAfee anti virus software - it was a product of choice at work by out IT department and since I've retired?
A victim of the brutal US justice system which can send someone to prison for life for tax evasion.
Whenever a new PC came with it installed the first job was to uninstall it, dreadful software. It was the bane of the IT department I was working for. It was good in the early days. But once Intel bought it, it suffered massively from bloat and went downhill. rapidly.Whenever a new PC came with it installed the first job was to uninstall it, dreadful software.
