This is probably one for the accountants out there or anyone with a good knowladge of tax law.
Anyway the wife and I need to change our current motorhome due to needing an extra berth and seatbelt, we are looking at a burstner Argos and we are finding the best deals on new vehicles from Germany and Belguim.
We also own a VAT registered buisness that (wait for it......) specialises in converting vans to campervans. This requires us to trade at many outdoor shows throughout the year etc.
Does this mean I could possibly import my new motorhome without the VAT as a buisness asset?

Have read about others considering this before which suggested that if the new motorhome is used for leisure at all or for anything other than business then it wouldn't be exempt but sure others on here will have looked in to this in depth before so will soon be along to advise.

You used to be able to import without paying the VAT imedatlyif you were VAT registered.
Under the new regs I don't think you can do it as the VAT has to be paid before you can register the van. So you would need to pay the VAT and then claim it back.
