Taking the Chunnel tomorrow night. If Gravelines is full where is best to try next?

thanks

There is more than one 'aire' in Gravelines - Searchforsites shows 4 but I think that the one I have circled would be my backup.

We use the circled one, it’s our go to stop, either first or last night. Always felt safe there.

Only time we decided to go to Bray Dunes it had been a tad windy and hence the whole road was part of the dunes .....

there were about 10 on it Monday night, you could even have a pitch on the quayside. the biggest hassle is that cars for the restaurant use the front part, so either get there before about 6pm or be prepared to go onto the grass which I have never seen full.

Plenty of Riverside parking at Gravelines when we arrived last night at 9 pm. About 8 mohos here

10 and 8, we were there for four nights a fortnight ago never more than that, must be room for at least 50.
If you are early or late the cars are no bother, they aren't supposed to be there so you have precidense .

We have used the circled one before and for two years there was a Motorhome permanently parked there-workers we think.
Then we heard of People parking there getting hassled by yobs in cars asking for drink!
We don’t go there now.
We have used Montreuil several times but will probably go to Watten this time.

Never ever had hassle there and have used it for several years.😊

Entrance is blocked off at the moment, you need to go to the exit to get in (obviously have to ignore the No Entry sign🤣) it's only a few metres further on

Yeah really smartening it up , hope it doesn't lead to a price rise :(

There’s one at Grand fort Phillip outside a campsite.
Yes, the new one is much better than the old one in the car park. Nice and quiet and right next to the nature reserve for nice walk.

That looks nice Lenny we will try that out next time we’re over in France. Thanks for posting👍

Wissant, the other side of Calais, a nice little aire and village.
Phil

Of late, since overnighting at Citie Europ was stopped, Wissant has been very busy - our last three attempts at various times of the year having been thwarted. We ended up at Gravelines which we've never seen remotely full.

We always tried to get there by 3/3.30 in order to get a place. Never had a problem but it soon filled up.
Probably different now Calais is closed.

<Broken link removed>

We've used this a few times, about 20-30min south of Calais. No facilities, but a quiet night and trouble free.

Terry

Thinking we may give there a try next time we're heading south.

Another 'Tick' for this one.

Unless things have changed, it has a rather good 'Frites' van on the quayside not far away.

Gravelines, Nord [59], Hauts-de-France, France, 59820

Now at Cite Europe doing some shopping. Daughter gone to Carrefour and I am sat in van - so far immigrants have opened the door (!) and run off (now locked) then later knocked on the door (no-one there) - they are really trying their hardest looking under vans and trying locker doors.

Very uncomfortable so I will stay with the van

Next off to La Bien Assise for two nights

Given up now ar Cite Europ. If we need fuel/shopping etc we go to Auchan at Boulogne.

Thanks all - successfully arrived at Gravelines last night, loads of room
It used to get full on odd nights but since they opened the field its more than twice the capacity, never seen it anywhere near full.(y)
